Musa considers submissions of any length from short story to epic novel for all imprints. And here are the various MUSA IMPRINTS:
Calliope—romance imprint. They are looking for all sorts of contemporary m/f romance, including erotic and sweet romances. This imprint has an adult-only website. All heat levels are accepted, but any sexual content must be warranted by the plot of the story.
Clio—historical fiction imprint. Musa has particular interest in traditional Regency romances, classical Rome and Greece, ancient Egypt, Westerns, medieval and Renaissance, French Revolution, Victorian, and Edwardian stories. Heat levels from sweet to sensual; anything erotic needs to go to Calliope. Clio is not only a romance imprint; they are actively searching for non-romance historicals. They are also interested in non-traditional historical romance (LGBT, interracial, etc). Their one unbreakable rule is that their insistence upon absolute historical accuracy. Clio manuscripts go through an additional level of editing solely for fact-checking.
Erato—LGBT imprint. The Erato banner covers romance, erotic romance, and contemporary fiction, as well as speculative fiction or paranormals. LGBT YA is sold under the Euterpe imprint.
Euterpe—YA imprint. Musa seeks MG and YA literature in all genres including: historical, romance, contemporary fiction, paranormal, adventure, mystery/suspense, fantasy, science fiction, and horror. The Euterpe site accepts no heat level beyond sweet. This imprint will soon have a separate sub-domain and shopping system.
Melpomene—Mystery/Suspense/Thriller imprint. They look for mysteries that are not easily solved, and for suspense and thrillers that actually live up to their names.
Polyhymnia—Action/Adventure imprint. These are fast-paced, hard knocks, no holds barred stories.
Terpsichore—Contemporary Fiction imprint. Musa seeks stories of modern literature: women's fiction, humor, and nostalgic tales not quite old enough to qualify as historicals.
Thalia—Paranormal and horror imprint. Thalia is where anything goes. For paranormal romance, heat levels vary from low to hot, excepting erotic romance which goes to Calliope or Erato. This is for vampires, shapeshifters, and other paranormal-type folks. If you write or read vampires or shapeshifters who are NOT the good guys, where there's no such thing as happily ever after, then the horror side of this imprint is for you.
Urania—Speculative Fiction imprint. This imprint plays host to science fiction and fantasy—and all the various subgenres under the SF umbrella. Steampunk? Dystopian? Urban Fantasy? Yep—we want it all. No erotic content here—that goes to Calliope; romance is okay as a subplot, but the SF genre must drive the story. Musa is particularly interested in series work. Must be original. No refashioned Star Wars or Lord of the Rings.
Musa will consider reprints to rights reverted stories. They do not accept multiple submissions.

ROBERT HALE LTD.

ROBERT HALE LTD.

This company opened its doors in 1936 and sells a wide range of genres including Westerns, True Crime, Crime, Biographies, General Fiction. They are well known for the quality of their Regencies and ‘how-to’ books.

Because their books are hardbacks, and in this cost-conscious world, hard to sell, in January 2012 they are venturing into the realms of e-publishing. They are e-publishing my Regency named COMING HOME on 31 January, 2012.
